Water main break closes Germantown High School

Jan. 5, 2012 | 1 comment

Germantown High School students received an unexpected, post-holiday half-day off Thursday thanks to a water main break near the school.

According to Jayne Borst, assistant to Superintendent Sue Borden, the main break occurred around 9 a.m. under River Lane, right in front of the school.

"No food service, no lunches and no bathrooms," Borst said. "The buses were there at 11 and everyone went home."

Borst said the district was told the break would be fixed by sundown. The high school will resume a normal schedule Friday.
